Pictured are my sculptures created in 2011 for the city of Oak Lawn IL using beams from the wreckage of the World Trade Center in New York City. I worked on this project inside of the City's public works area and also in my studio in Crystal Lake IL. The plaza took several more years to finish properly and it finally is done. Looks terrific! Granite tops, beautiful walls. These pieces were sculpted to look like stelae from the ancient Nile, and have images of contemporary faces and hands in them, along with firefighter and police imagery, architecture from the buildings, and peace symbols.
